South City Mechanical is looking for self motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency, good customer service skills and a desire to succeed as  service technicians. Our primary goal is customer service achieved by results(refer to the purpose statement on the home page).   This can only be accomplished with the right technicians.  Each Technician needs to perform with a high level of integrity and professionalism. Whether the customer is big or small, we have to treat the equipment as if it was our own and as if we were paying for the repair. 1. How would we want to be treated as a customer? 2. How far beyond the norm would we want the technician to go to get us back up and running?  3. Would we have enough trust in the technician to know that if they tell us we need a part, it’s because we really need the part, not because they just want to sell a part?  These are very serious questions that every technician is required to apply to every service call and every customer.  If you can honestly perform with this philosophy, WE WANT YOU ON OUR TEAM!   Technicians receive competitive wages, medical and dental insurance, vacation pay, and use of a company vehicle.  Candidates may apply for either of two positions.

1. Entry Level Technician- Need to have completed basic refrigeration classes and understand the basic laws and theories of refrigeration and electrical.  Must display trainable aptitude to handle refrigeration, a/c, and cooking equipment maintenance procedures to develop a solid understanding of the equipment function and operation. Must be willing to adapt a mindset focused on troubleshooting(“How does this work? What should be happening? How do I verify it?”) and take the steps needed to address any gaps in knowledge. Must be goal oriented and seek to aggressively improve to develop into qualified service technicians.

2. Service Technician- In addition to the requirements for entry level technician, Need to have minimum 2 yrs. refrigeration, a/c, or cooking equipment troubleshooting experience. Must have basic refrigeration certification, EPA certification, and have a clean DMV record. Must have own hand tools and meters.
